Vatulele #5
by Sarina Baker Report
This report will contain information about the painting
‘Vatulele #5’ by artist ‘Sarina Baker’ it will also contain the colours,
textures, and mediums about the painting. ‘I believe that this painting is
absolutely beautiful’. Sarina Baker is an Australian artist and was born in
Toowoon Bay NSW; her main professions are fine art, tortile and graphic design.
The painting itself has dimensions (71 x 56) and is made from
collage, gouache, acrylics, oils, inks, cements, sand and pastel. The painting
‘Vatulele #5 can be described as the Australian front view of the ocean with
heaps of tropical fruits in a bowl on a table with the ocean in the background.
The medium of the painting is ‘paint ‘and shapes such as stars, circles, and
squiggly lines ae used. The painting is a horizontal axis and the composition
is used very effectively, many shaded of blues and greens are used for the
ocean.
Many colours were used for the tropical fruit on the table,
the tones, colours, and textures balance each other out to give that warm
tropical feel. The colours used in the painting are greens, yellows, whites,
red and purple. In the background of the panting there are boats on the ocean
and a table covered in tropical fruit is in front, the sky is also in the
background with a few white clouds. I believe that the distinctive features of
this artwork are the blue and green ocean, the tropical fruit and the blue
crisp sky. These features are what give off that warm tropical feel.
The theme of the art is beach and tropical, you can see this
by the use of tropical fruits in the painting, the white sand and the blue and
green ocean. I believe the art work means a day in paradise, when I look at the
artwork I feel as though i am on the beach and the ocean is clear and blue.
This is why I feel the artist made this painting to take you to the tropics and
nature and I don’t believe the artwork represents any other symbols. In
conclusion I really like this artwork and think that it is a brilliant
painting, I also believe that it is an important artwork because it makes you
feel happy and relaxed. I also think that this painting is good enough to put
in a museum for those reasons. For me the blues and greens are what really draw
me into the painting, I feel as though I am at a holiday at the beach when I
look at this painting and all round I think that it is an excellent painting.
